DEVELOPMENT OF MANUFACTURE OF ETHANOL AS ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF AUTOMOBILE FUELS

Some decades ethanol is known as fuel. Really Henry Ford developing his "Model T" hoped that ethanol made from renewed biological materials will be the basic automobile fuel. Nevertheless in the beginning of the XX century gasoline start to be the basic transport fuel caused of the growth of cheaper oil deliveries from the open oil fields. Last achievements in the field of biotechnology allow coming on qualitatively new business economics level of ethanol manufacture. Russia has the necessary scientifically-technological and industrial preconditions for development of manufacture of fuel ethanol, however in the country it is happen a situation when the tax laws is an obstacle for successful use of ethanol as fuel.

ALTERNATIVE FUEL SOURCES - A PERSPECTIVE WAY OF ENERGY-SAVING

The review of technologies of extraction and use of an alternative source of "blue" fuel - landfill gas on dumping sites and sanitary landfills has been carried. The data of working plants is resulted. The perspectives of landfill gas extraction and utilization in Russia are observed. The method of mathematical modelling of the processes proceeding in a body of sanitary landfills is described, allowing theoretically determining of methane potential at each stage of its life cycle.

RESEARCH OF FEATURES OF WORK OF THE BOILER BASED ON PULSING BURNING OF GASEOUS FUEL

This article is dedicated to study of pulsing characteristics, founded on device of the resonator Helimholtz in which gaseous fuel is burnt. There are defined modes of thermo-hydraulic parameters, sharing the heat load along the boiler of pulsing combustors. Recommendations are given on increasing of efficiency of the work like devices.

FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A HOT DRY ROCK PROJECT IN HUNGARY

The paper aims at developing a mathematical model to describe the hydraulic and thermal behavior of an artificially created reservoir (a.k.a. HDR). The investigated system consists of an injection well, through which high-volume water is injected downhole, an artificially created fracture system used to extract the geothermal heat of the earth, and a production well through which heated water reaches the surface. The energy content of the produced water is removed by suitable surface heat exchangers. Spent water is re-injected through the injection well thus making the system a closed one. The computer program developed by the authors is used to investigate the feasibility of the described process in Hungary. The authors select the site best suited for such kind of heat extraction, then, using several assumed fracture configurations calculate the hydraulic and thermal parameters of the proposed system.
